HP 612a UHF Signal Generator

First Catalog 1954
Last Catalog 1967
Cost $1200
Weight 57 lbs
Power 215 Watts

Frequency Range: 450MHz to 1230MHz. Output Level: 0.1 microvolt to 0.5 volts +/- 1db, into a 50 Ohm load.

The output frequency is determined using high-frequency pencil triode vacuum tubes within a cavity-tuned circuit, permitting operation and tracking over the entire band. This arrangement permits modulation percentages with frequencies up to 5MHz. The frequency is tuned using a direct screw operating mechanism and a direct reading dial. Modulation may be done internally at 400Hz or 1KHz, or through external sine or pulsed signal. It will be found useful for measuring gain, sensitivity or image rejection of receivers, and selectivity. UHF television equipment can be tested directly, under actual modulation conditions, with the Model 612A.
